Visiting Zahle #1

Last week, March 8 [International women’s day], was the opening of ‘Amalgame’ exhibition at the French Culture Center [CCF] of Zahle. It was a chance to discover a beautiful town far from Beirut’s chaos...

.

.

Zahle is a gorgeous town that was nicknamed "bride of the bekaa" by poet said akl

.

.

It's located right behind the mountains, in the Bekaa valley.

.

.

The area is full of blossoming almond trees

… That was the “touristic” aspect of the Zahle visit! Isn’t Lebanon just beautiful? You can see some photos of the visit on the Facebook page. Tomorrow, I will tell you about the “serious aspect” i.e. exhibition, book-signing and encounters with lovely local schools & university students.

And before I leave you to your busy days, here are 2 Lebanese songs that I love [for a change!] by Fairouz: Al Bint Al Chalabiya & Shayef El Bahr Shou Kbir. Enjoy & have a beautiful day 🙂

    Hi Maya,
First, i finally found out wat Amalgam means! yay
“A combination of diverse elements; a mixture”
I’m guessing in your case, a mixture of Art and Blogging.

Second, Its great to see that you enjoyed your time in Zahle, relaying the touristic aspect of your visit to Zahle, but i couldn’t wait to know more about exhibition itself so i did some Googling.
Thanx to Google, Youtube, and TéléLiban i found this: “www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1eipeO228E”.
A 4 minutes report on the exhibition and my favourite blogger 🙂

Sharing is caring, so enjoy the youtube link everyone…

hahaha i can just imagine the look on your face when you were surrounded by all these posters of basket ball players!
actually they were on the Anibal basket ball team… Zahle’s team… and they used to lunch at Masaad all the time (like every real Zahliote would do) and so they had their pictures taken with the owners…
i’m glad Masaad is getting famous! we’re quite fond of it!

you seem to have enjoyed your trip to Zahleh! where’s the next one to?!
