Now if this gets boring, you can push the challenge to level 2 by combining Y.A.S.’ song in the background “wa7ad, tnein, tleteh, arb3a, setteh, tna3sh, setteh, tna3sh… (it can get really confusing!) Yea so I have really exhausted all the possible ways of passing time in traffic, and yesterday evening, from Beirut to Jounieh, was HELL! Hope the weekend will make it up. Have a lovely weekend all 🙂

I have 3 hours on the road everyday. The way I deal with it? Audio books and podcasts.

This way, the more traffic, the smarter I get 🙂

haha amazing! yesterday I was going to my spanish class (towards downtown), and then 6 km took me half an hour (I am that impatient) I turned back and went home, I was like through spanish (but the thing here was that I had a choice) I pity the people who while going home get stuck in traffic, I’d rather park do something in the neighborhood and wait the traffic off.

    Ridiculous!

So how many hairs do you have? 😛

Maya i recommend you to get Ziad El Rahbani’s plays and songs, time will pass and you will have a laugh all the way or have a pill of Lexotanil 😛 kidding!!! but i am used to tell angry people on the road to have one if they start shouting LOL but i don’t let them hear me !!!! 🙂

My first suggestion would be not to use your own car, and to rely on public transportation instead (at least you rid yourself the guilt for contributing to the traffic and pollution by wanting to have an entire vehicle all for yourself). It’s what I do. You can even sleep in the buses (or vans, or cabs).

To get to Jounié from Beirut, you take the number 4 van to Martyr Square. From there you take the van going towards Daoura, and from there you either take the van or the bus going towards Jounié. The entire thing costs 3,500 Thou max, and when there is daylight, you can even catch up on some valuable reading.

My second suggestion would be to find yourself two or three neighbours who also work in Beirut, and who have similar timings. This way you would share the guilt with two or three other people (hence less guilt), and you would be quarelling over politics instead of counting your hair.

My third suggestion would be that you buy audio books and listen to them while stuck in traffic.

My fourth suggestion would be that you get yourself real books and read. Sure, you will have to interrupt your reading every now and then and press the gas peddle, but you would be surprised at how many books you can read in the car.

    Gorgeous entry, btw.

Carpools, public transport, and sidewalks safe to walk on (and people willing to walk on them!) That’s what Lebanon needs! Until then, it’s just going to get worse.

I suggest that the lebanese leaders should find a way for this traffic every Friday, it took me 3 hours from Beirut to jounieh, and for the people going from Beirut to leave it earlier before 6 PM thank you..
