And the heel strikes again, and much stronger this time! I love the countryside, and its natural aspect, and was planning to have a rather ‘sporty’ week-end until my mom surprised me with the so-dreaded pair of high-heels, which according to the present family members, are ‘not-so-high heels’. This time I think I will take every single pair of shoes that have the slightest heel in them to caritas once and for all. There are many needy people out there who would rather have them.

And in case you were busy or if  you live on a different planet and didn’t get to see the #1 of this post (which would help you understand it better), you can see it here.

  • See you Monday

As you can see, dearest fans, I will be taking a semi-vacation for the week-end, to go to my ‘origin’ town, hasbaya, in the south! But I shouldn’t be too long, so see you Monday! (by the way I’m kind of scared because strong earthquakes are expected in the area but we are still going there.. yes stupid I know).

Here I am, paying the tough price of having a public blog ;)Lesson: study well the content of your posts before posting them! And if you’ve been ditching the blog and want to know what the previous post is about, all you have to do is scroll down, down, down, and click on “Older entries” to the left. 😀

    Have a lovely day!

Lately this has been my daily ‘welcome-home’. I don’t know if it is a matter of luck or coincidence, but things always go in the opposite way. On other days I go out of the car with the door key ready to be used, and I find Mahmoud ready to open the door before me… I guess that’s what they call ‘irony’ and lately irony has been around heavily!

Lately everytime I want to download a file or enter a website or sign in, I am required to enter this #$%^ code! And I never get it right from the first (or second or third) time… It makes me feel stupid… What happened to the days where it was just enough to have the username and the password? 😀

Getting new jazz CDs in an addiction that – unfortunately, and given that buying original CDs is one of my deepest beliefs – costs a decent amount of money. Whenever I go to a music shop and contemplate all the possibilities it just breaks my heart to the core because I know I will get out with only one or two items :'( Well, at least there’s one or two items, let’s start our day with a positive thought! 😀

PS. This post is dedicated to Alain, one of the best musicians of the century, who ingrained this addiction in me, and who has an unequalled passion for music.

I look at high heels as just another form of woman mutilation that has as aim the reduction of their power and control, a bit like a modern ‘chinese foot-binding’ (to those of you who don’t know what foot binding is, it was a custom of keeping women’s feet as small as when they were born by binding them.  Click here for the full story). OK, I’m exaggerating, must be the pain effect. But what is sure is that next sha3nineh I will be wearing a jogging outfit. Fits the occasion perfectly.

Always think twice of the consequences before answering! Well what can I say, freelancing is a tough teacher 😀 Specially regarding fiscal issues. What is sure is that I will never accept barter again. I’m sure them phoenicians invented money for a very necessary reason!

    (P.S. I know someone who’d take the chicken! ;))

The marriage proposal. An eternal dilemma. Is the future husband supposed to stick to the classical-get-down-on-your-knee-prince-charming- proposal ? or should he try something creative and new. I only know one thing: in our materialistic society, the more it costs, the more effective it will be! So good luck to all you guys out there, start saving money from the day you are born.

I’m sure all of you courageous chauffeurs who drive on the Lebanese highway witnessed at least once the “kamikaze phenomenon”. I can’t believe people find it logical to cross a highway when there is a bridge few meters away. Also note that I chose to put the rather “happy ending” of this phenomenon on the blog because we don’t want any martyrs in here, but unfortunately this phenomenon usually ends rather sadly.

    RESPECT THE ROAD PEOPLE!

Well yes, it wasn’t about any light source…

I don’t get why a lot of people wear their sunglasses in closed – let alone dark – areas. Each time I try to find the source of light that’s bothering them, I end up empty-handed. If you have any suggestions as to why this rite is followed, you’re welcome to make them public! 😀
