But thanks to our dear developer, the website was restored, and people were posting their opinions again!

Now I still have a lot to tell you, about the BOOK, and about the office moving (we’re currently moving our office, that’s why I might be a bit slow in posting) so stay tuned for more news! Have a wonderful day! 🙂

  • Maya's Amalgam BOOK

To my huge surprise, my amazing colleagues at work created a book of all the blog posts as a birthday present. The book is currently being prepared in limited edition to be launched soon!

To book your copy please send an email to maya.zankoul@gmail.com

I guess this is quite timely with many requests I have received 😉

Love you all, and thank you for your support 🙂

  • Shoot yourself

    shooting

I can’t hear about shootings in Beirut anymore. I can’t hear about the reasons behind the shootings anymore. We’re just going back to where we were few months ago. We keep going back to past situations. Will we ever learn from our mistakes? I had hope, but I’m starting to doubt it… Are the Lebanese really that STUPID? I’m sorry to start the week with such a pessimistic tone, but I’m really worried and depressed from the current situation in Lebanon. I bet I’m not the only one.

On my way out from the hairdresser’s I was seized by a panic shock  when I bumped into a biiiig tall lady doing mèche and coloring her eyebrows in red at the same time, whatever they call it. I observed her for a while, wondering if we placed her exactly the way she looked in another setting, such as fancy party, how beautiful would she look? Funny if you think about the process it takes to “look beautiful” …

  • Just another deal

Don”t worry I don”t get the way some people think either! I wonder if it”s our profession that”s always underestimated, or if this is just the way Lebanese downlond free games do business. I also wonder why I still deal with the likes of her!! Need to draw a line at human rights infringements of the sort…

In other news, go see what we”re cooking on Maw2af.org. We tested our election-meter on Iranian Election!! Click here to see the results…

  • Technology & Communication

    long-distance

    technology-communication

I had trouble communicating during a skype meeting today which led to me naturally shouting as if this was the solution! It reminded me of the KSA days when I would wake up to my mom shouting on the phone while talking to family in Leb. As if shouting would get the voice more efficiently given the distance between the location 🙂

Now go see on Maw2af.org if I’m there! We’re talking about Lebanese ants today!

saba7o Click here for more. Ouhhh I wonder what this little ant is cooking! 🙂

With this, I wish you a lovely day!

  • The truth about acetone

    acetone

Sorry Omar! 😀 Hahaha! Yes this is a true story, and it will teach all of you that acetone is NOT the best choice to clean your laptop (or your table, or anything else, except your nails!) And they say that women lack common sense! One thing is sure: some substances are much safer in the hands of women.

Couldn’t resist to share this little story that happened today. Have a great day 🙂

  • Mafroukeh!

    mafroukeh

Hope my Mom got over the shock of scrambled mafroukeh, which actually is as delicious as the normal one!  But of course it wouldn”t have worked well enough to be served to -other- people! Still it”s a proof that our opinion of food lies greatly in its design as well as in its taste. It”s not my fault if the shop didn”t specify on its packaging that it should be held horizontally 😀 Anyway, with this small lecture I wish you all a lovely week!

    spanish-day

It was very disappointing to attend the “Day of Spanish” so called and find a trance mode there! After endless centuries of beats, the band finally arrived. This caused most people to start chatting and expressing extreme annoyance to the beautiful, authentic music that was being played!! I mean, you’re not supposed to go to “day of spanish” if what you want is moving to repetitive beats. Some people probably confuse celebrating with partying. Anyway, as they say in spanish “sobre gustos y colores, nada han dicho los pintores”, meaning that no rules are written about tastes and colors, and everyone is free to enjoy what (s)he thinks is right!

With this thought, I wish you all a lovely tasty week-end !  😀

  • The delights of working on a computer

    electricity

Last week the electricity went off for about an hour and a half in a row… I’m not complaining! That was a very timely break from the screen. I noticed that in this aspect of our work (only able to complete it using the computer), electrical rationing can be quite useful! It’s true that 8 hours a day (minimum) in front of the computer screen can be quite frustrating, but at least in Lebanon we get the breaks we deserve!

P.S. Please do forgive me if I’m a bit slower in posting this week, I’m sooo overloaded with work, and doing my best to finish ASAP to get back to YOU!

    horra-interview

To those of you who haven’t watched the interview, you can find the youtubes below.

I want to thank Roula and Mona who made this experience much easier on me! You were wonderful… I have to  admit that this might have been the scariest experience I have EVER gone through… Hating the stage, and hating camera pressure, it wasn’t very confortable to go live, where mistakes are not allowed. One of the conclusions of this experience: being a tv presentor is one of the hardest jobs in the world!!!

  • Beachin'

    beach

And those were my preliminary beach observations… Not very positive I must say. You can add to them the cleanliness of the water, the cleanliness of the shore, the cleanliness of the people, and the list goes on. Oh yes not to mention the ardent need for TRANCE ‘music’ for the mood to be “wel3aneh”… I just can’t stand trance, and don’t think that it’s the best choice for a beach setting where people are supposed to be relaxing! Anyway you’re welcome to add any beach annoyances you might have faced… Until then, have a great day! 🙂
