I woke up sick today, for the first day back to work after 4 beautiful days of vacation! Very motivating… My throat is killing me 🙁 I took the classical mix of honey and lemon and tea, in the hope of getting rid of the pain A.S.A.P. Please let me know if you have other express-solutions. As for yesterday’s alien rumour, it turns out that what (very intelligent) people mistook for aliens were actually chinese lanterns launched at my colleague’s brother’s wedding (what a small world!). Someone got it right in the comments 😉 Have a beautiful day 🙂

I’m sure most of you heard the ‘latest news’ of UFO’s and aliens flying over Lebanon. They made a huge deal about them and featured them on national television, creating a fuss among the lebanese, who initially love making fusses about anything and everything. The result is endless facebook statuses and tweets crying about the alien attack, which, to start with, was probably a fire balloon or an optical illusion. Can we please get back to our senses and keep our eyes on more important issues?

Yes, my darlings, it’s been a few days that I’m addicted to twitter. When I wake up I check twitter, before I sleep, I check twitter. While working, I check twitter. Why is it so addictive? After all the resistance and the anti-twitter campaign, I have become a victim. Snif, snif. Well, I hope I’ll get over the addiction very soon!

I’d like to wish a Eid Mubarak to all concerned… And to enjoy this day off, I’d like to dedicate you this beautiful song that I love,  from jazz pianist Philippe el Hage’s latest album ‘Sunday Afternoon’. I just can’t get enough of it! The sax & piano combination is…… Well, I’ll let you be the judge 🙂 Hope you’ll enjoy it and hope you have a beauuuuutiful day! 🙂

Well, it seems that all my trials of changing the water bottle at work are doomed for eternity. It’s unfair that they make them so heavy and thus impossible to carry. We girls always end up calling each other for support. I’m going to get a stock of 0.5L bottles w khalass. With this, I wish you all a lovely sunny week-end! 🙂

  • RFI radio show & Future TV

Hello my darlings, no time for a post today, only some quick updates!

As a result of tuesday’s meeting, we (Blogging Beirut, Beirut NTSC, Chroniques Beyrouthines, Jad Bitar & I) met for a radio show for Atelier des medias with Philippe Couve that you can happily listen to on Saturday morning on Radio Liban 96.2 and of which you can get a sneak preview on Blogging Beirut. I don’t know the exact timing yet but will let you know as soon as I do… [Updated] You can listen to it here.

In other news, 😛 I will be in a live (oh no!) interview onFuture TV’s morning show today thursday at 10:30 am (if everything goes fine) to talk about the book & blog.

Other than that, preparing for the signings and events to come in October, which is not a very easy job… With this, I wish you all a lovely day! 🙂

This is what happens when you spend too much time working. Lesson: Never forget yourself while working! This story proves my hypothetical statement that office jobs are against human nature. My darlings, I’m literally falling asleep as I’m posting this, but I couldn’t stay  longer without seeing you! I have a lot to tell you, after a good night’s sleep. See you tomorrow! 🙂

I know, I know. The reason why we can panic so much is because we see terrible events from the past repeating themselves in a very, very stupid way. (Human are supposed to learn from their mistakes). But since I think we will be having a lot of surprises soon with the cabinet’s mission impossible, I decided to take things lightly, and not to panic unless things get REALLY messy. Which, hopefully, optimistically and idealistically will not happen. Keep it positive! 🙂 Have a great weekend!

Yes ladies and gentlemen! I’m out books… They’re all either sold, or in bookstores. Since I am planning 2 future book signings, I will reprint! 🙂 Decision was taken after many hours of thorough reflection 😛

    Book signings planned for October:

*28/10/2009: Ceramic Lounge, Saïfi Village: (this is the top secret project that is going to keep me busy and therefore a little bit slower in posting) Ceramic Lounge will be launching a special edition of stencils of my drawings for people to be able to paint them on ceramics! (plates, mugs, tiles … you name it!) The launching will also be accompanied by a presentation and a book signing session. More details soon!!

    * Youth Culture Center, Zouk Mikael: (Date TBD [=To Be Defined 😛 ] As the Library of Zouk Mikael is being restored and refurnished with many books, we will organize in collaboration a book signing there! I am very proud that Zouk Mikael has now a public library! You can submit your books there as well. Click here for more information.

While I’m at it, I will also be presenting the blog and book at Pecha Kucha Night Beirut #6 along with 13 artists who will be talking about their work. Click here for more details.

With this, I wish you a lovely weekend! I’ve got lots of preparations during this month, wish me luck! 😉
