• Q & A's for Agenda Culturel

I was delighted to be the first artist chosen by Agenda Culturel to introduce their new section: illustrated Q & A’s. Here are the four questions and how I answered them. Go get the latest issue of L’Agenda Culturel for more 🙂

It’s in French, and because I love you a lot, I’ve translated them for you 😛

Q1. Que vous apportent les réactions des lecteurs de votre blog?

    (Q. What do the reactions of your blog readers bring you?

    A. “Haha! Let’s see what my darlings have to say about what I posted last night” They’re my daily bread. Their reactions encourage me, make me laugh & think. My readers are my darlings!)

So on November 16, 2009 I will participate to the 1st Creative Commons Salon in the Arab World, in Jordan, Amman. Many artists, bloggers and entrepreneurs will be presenting their work and sharing their CC experience. For more details click here. I should be back on Wed. Until then, I’m going to miss you!!!!!!! 🙂

Here’s a summary of the event (that I took from here):

On the 16th Creative Commons will celebrate the first ever CC Arab Salon. Event is due to kick off at 6pm @Al Balad Theatre in Downtown Amman.

The Salon will feature media organisations, artists, bloggers and creative people from the Arab world who have used CC licenses and would like to share the results of opening up their work.

The Amman Salon is going to be a major step going towards fostering the creation of original Arabic content and encouraging the people to share it with the entire world.  To this extent, the enthusiastic support of the Royal Film Commissionwho is co-organising the event under the Royal Patronage of Prince Ali bin al Hussein has been extremely key and encouraging.

  • Overview of AUB lecture + workshop

Thanks to Rachel Hines for giving me the chance to give the presentation & workshop at AUB today. I had a great time, and met lovely friendly people. We enjoyed drawing some comics, that I’ll share with you as soon as they send them to me. I’ll leave you with some photos.

No matter what I do, I can’t seem to learn the exact limits of my car! And because 5 years ago a parking attendant told me to go back, and I trusted him and went back and ended up hitting the car behind me, I don’t ever trust parking attendants. But I know I need to work on this distance optical thing. Now I’m not sure if defining the car limits is really related to gender, but at least I’m fully aware that I do NOT know the limits of my car. 🙂 And here’s a nice song to brighten up your Monday (More Than Words, Extreme), Enjoy! 🙂

(I MIGHT be slow in posting during this week because I have sooooo much to do [lecture+workshop-CC presentation-CCF exhibition- work], so please forgive me, I promise you’ll be on my mind all the time!) So here’s another song to express the situation I’m in (Under Pressure, Queen & David Bowie)

  • Lecture & workshop at AUB

    Poster
    Lecture poster

So my darlings, as you just read in the poster, I will be giving a lecture & workshop at AUB, in the department of Fine Arts & Art History, this wednesday from 3:30 to 6:00 pm. So all of you who are interested are most welcome to attend and participate.

The planned schedule is as follows:

    • 3:30-4:15 lecture about the use of art & blogging to make social impacts, or for self-knowledge and better understanding of our society and surroundings.
    • 4:15-6:00 workshop focusing on illustration/sketching as a way of self representation in social situations that bother us.

If you want to participate to the workshop, don’t forget your pencils, papers and try to prepare a storyboard of 5 scenes depicting a story that happened with you, that has impacted you on a social/political level to discuss and develop during the workshop.

Here’s the link to the lecture announcement on the class’ blog and on AUB bulletin.

    See you there 😉

Now if this gets boring, you can push the challenge to level 2 by combining Y.A.S.’ song in the background “wa7ad, tnein, tleteh, arb3a, setteh, tna3sh, setteh, tna3sh… (it can get really confusing!) Yea so I have really exhausted all the possible ways of passing time in traffic, and yesterday evening, from Beirut to Jounieh, was HELL! Hope the weekend will make it up. Have a lovely weekend all 🙂
