Poor Lebanese women, they are going through a terrible identity crisis… They are given a new perspective to the question “who am i” everyday! They don’t know if they’re pretty, equal (to we don’t know what, maybe to the pretty one), or simply sex objects using temptation as the only way to get attention… I mean slowly with the billboards.. And why do you feel that you have to answer every single billboard that is printed? Some questions are better left unanswered you know…Anyway the above was simply my “real-life” interpretation of this endless stupid billboard war.

I spent a good 2 hours in the traffic this morning from ashrafieh to jounieh… This gave me time to deeply contemplate the latest addition to our dear smart lebanese elections slogans… I think there14 i am… Am i missing something? Because I didn”t get it… When will this elections nightmare be over?

I was very disappointed to see the latest addition to our endless series of billboard elections. Why is the Lebanese woman always stereotyped to the fashion-victim bimbo?  I personally did not identify with the billboards. I would like to see smarter women represented, who are not judged by the way they dress or the way they look, but for their ideas. Moreover, the statement accompanying the female-version billboard does not contain any hint of intelligence in it: she will vote for the color of her lipstick. What a wise choice! This is very repugnant. And please people don’t get all offended now I don’t have anything against your party 🙂  it’s just that I find those ads truly repulsive. Better for all parties to stop advertising themselves already, it seems like they’re out of ideas…

Enough. Is. Enough! I know it’s the elections, and I know that you all want to win, and I know that you’re doing the best to pass out your messages (Billboards, Radio, TV, internet, TELEPHONES! , greeting cards, etc.) But I think that by now, we all got your points very very clearly printed into our brains, and I mean it: no need for more propaganda. Let us miss you a bit, give us time to think about all the campaigns you’ve poured into our brain before the d-day! Ever heard of reverse psychology? You’re doing exactly what you should be doing if you wanted most of the population to go for the voting abstinence option. Just give us a break (at least give us Sunday off). Thank you.

It’s funny how our dear politicians are acting as models now. I must admit I just can’t used to the idea of driving in the streets and seeing semi-photoshopped political figures around instead of the semi-nude super model females. How far will you go for those stupid elections?

If the elections pressure is already THAT strong mid april, I wonder what will happen the week before the elections–if we survive till then! All the billboards and unipoles are covered with elections, people talk about elections all the time, radio, TV, internet, everywhere! Its starting to get quite annoying… Please people just take the elections easy, and let’s not make a big fuss about them alright?

I’m sure all of you who have driven by the Lebanese Highway have noticed the latest political campaign. Well I guess these campaigns have really been targeting – EVERYONE – lately, and by that I mean all levels of IQ, all ages. No brain challenging whatsoever, simple brainwashing-take-you-by-the hand and ‘feed-you-with-a spoon’ messages. I personally felt quite offended to see the exaggerated level of simplicity in the messages of the latest campaign. What do they take us for? If only they invested all those wasted billboards money in teaching the citizens more profitable values – but it’s probably our job to do that.
