Poor Lebanese women, they are going through a terrible identity crisis… They are given a new perspective to the question “who am i” everyday! They don’t know if they’re pretty, equal (to we don’t know what, maybe to the pretty one), or simply sex objects using temptation as the only way to get attention… I mean slowly with the billboards.. And why do you feel that you have to answer every single billboard that is printed? Some questions are better left unanswered you know…Anyway the above was simply my “real-life” interpretation of this endless stupid billboard war.

Right after last week’s crazy lady adventure, this week-end I get ‘taxi adventure’. And because I don’t learn my lesson about how everyone knows everything in Lebanon, I had to undergo a panic attack before the driver explained to me the sequence of events that led to him knowing my family tree better than I do. I’m sure he thought I was lying, but I really don’t know my extended family tree. I can barely remember where I placed my phone 2 seconds ago, let alone remember the voting areas of every single family member of mine! I have to say the Lebanese are gifted on the memory level. Maybe that’s why they can’t get over the civil war…

After days and days (yes it was a matter of days) of super hard work, I can proudly announce that Maw2af.org (or the top-secret project I’ve been hinting to you about lately) is online, and almost perfectly functioning!

    TOP SECRET:

Maw2af.org gives youth across Lebanon a platform to report and share on topics of their choosing: social, environmental, political, entertainment, etc. Maw2af.org is a non-political, non-religious website. And most importantly, guess who designed it! 😀 Come on, take a guess!

This website is a project of the famous Y4T (Youth for Tolerance) the NGO that I joined and that I have also been talking to you about. Check out our website to know more about our projects.

    Now some extra news:

    • I will be regularly posting comics on maw2af.org (a bit like here, but more socially/politically oriented and that I’m co-working on with Elie Awad) so you can check them there. Will keep you posted the first week of the new… well, postings!

    • YOU can post stuff too! Photos, articles, shout your opinion out loud for everyone to read it, see it… Looking forward to see what you have to submit!

In case you missed yesterday’s news, click here for the lovely interview that I had with NOWLEBANON. Thank you Maysam! 🙂

I realized on this special morning that I don’t have space to place my hands on the desk anymore, and the desk is quite large in size! So let’s get to work… Hope that I’ll really feel that relaxed when i finish the cleaning!! Have a great day 🙂

Yes this is a true story. Happened today on my way home after an endless day of work and meetings… It’s really ironic how we lose evident objects that are in our hands or that we just placed in front of our eyes. This little detail shows how much we can be missing from things happening around us, while ‘mentally’ focused on other issues. Sad reality, the human brain.

if you walk in public areas i’m sure you spotted one of those 2 scenarios…  First and foremost the maid abuse issue. I am against this whole system of bringing foreign people to work in such unfair conditions, let alone making her follow Mr. and Daughter while they jog, so that when they are thirsty the water is right behind them. Second, I really laugh at the way some women dress when they walk or jog in public places. I mean, easy on the sex-appeal!

Anyway, after all, walking is a way of self expression and each person’s interpretation is only subjective! 🙂

I’m having the chance to work on a top-secret project (that i’ll be revealing to you super-soon!) and I must say that I finally found someone in Lebanon who KNOWS how to deal with graphic designers and who actually believes that their job requires expertise in the domain. The problem of working in Lebanon (and in fields requiring visual communication such as architecture, interior design, fashion  design …) is that all the citizens think those jobs require ‘zo2’ meaning taste, and are not a matter of expertise or experience…  Besides, I always get comments implying that our job is overrated, that it is all about doing some coloring and drawing… So to all of you potential graphic-design-clients out there, learn from the above example and stop taking our profession lightly.
