Did you ever have a chance to flip through a typically social Lebanese magazine? (bala ma nsammeh 😛 ) I have to say that I found the experience quite nauseating. Is this what happens in the private social gatherings in our country? Do people really look so fake in real life? Do fifty something women really have that much time on their hands for brunches and dunches and birthdays? I wish they would invest all their money in matters that are worthier than gossiping and showing off.

Feels like I haven’t posted in ages… I missed you so much and you were on my mind all the time! As you can see, stuff were happening in my life in the past few days 😛 Most importantly, about the book: I trustfully gave it to the printing press who should return it to me multiplied by 500… I really DO hope they don’t mess it up *fingers and toes crossed*…. Besides that, had to catch up on a lot of work that I had been proudly ditching… and right now, I’m just taking a 5 min break to tell you hello, and to hope you enjoyed your weekend, and to wish you a great week-to-come! See you soon 🙂

  • Business is business

When I read Qussa’s post about how women are treated when dealing with men in Lebanon in different places, I remembered a story  that happened with me around 2 years ago when I was still in college and had just started freelancing.

Now I know this is much less serious than the issues tackled in the article, but it still shows how women are often badly treated in the workplace simply based on their sex and not on their potential. I refuse to believe as many might say that this is human nature and that a woman will always be judged on her appearance and not on her work. I hope this aspect will change with time…

I’m not ashamed to say it, I just know how to get to Ashrafieh and Down Town Beirut. No clue what happens beyond that. However I challenged my fear of the unknown and stepped into the new territory confidently, and made it back home safely, with an ISBN 🙂 With this, I wish you all a lovely start of the week! 😀

I had so much work lately that I haven’t had the chance to spend quality time with my little sister Nour. I decided to do so this Saturday night, and it was great! Children with Down Syndrome have a tendency to bring pure happiness to people around them, and I consider myself extremely lucky to have this chance with Nour.

Easy on the perfumes lady! Perfumes smell great when used in reasonable doses. They add a special mysterious scent to people. However, sometimes, some people forget to read the instructions on how to use perfumes, and puff the whole bottle to show how distinguished they are. I’m not sure anymore which smells better: insecticide or overused perfume! With this, I wish you a lovely saturday! 😀

And the next day I came to work to find out that he removed it… men! If you think about what the lebanese society’s obsession inflicts on humans who are born women on the “socially-acceptable-beauty” level and compare it to what it inflicts on men, you find yet another proof of gender unfairness… Anyway, let’s not worry about that now. Hope you all have a lovely week-end! 😀
