This is the story of how my upcoming book “Beirut – New York” came to be.

From Beirut to New York

Last summer, I took a vacation and traveled from Beirut to New York City. While the trip provided a much needed time out, the blow of coming back to everyday life in Beirut weighed on me.

My post-vacation blues got me wondering what makes certain cities more desirable than others.

Unexpectedly, I started noticing similarities between these highly incompatible cities: Beirut and New York City.

Talk of the Town!

Hello guys! I missed you the past few days. I want to share with you this drawing I did during my participation to Talk of the Town show on MTV. It”s a parody of their TV ad that has been running, that you can watch here.

The show will be aired tonight, Thu 25 November, at 9:15PM Beirut time. You can also check it out . The shooting took 6 painful hours and I”m anxious about the outcome… We”ll see how it goes this evening…

Until then, here”s 2 delightful songs for you. “Strawberry Fields Forever” & “Here comes the sun” from the Beatles” Love album. Have a beautiful day 🙂

Who said laziness was bad? It’s the attitude that matters! I watched part of the marathon (and its sponsors) yesterday, in support of finding a solution to the causes of drugs and corrupt politicians :-). Other than that, I hope you had a great weekend.

Check out this lovely drawing I got from Elena Sabbagh. Thank you Elena!! 🙂

Have a great day! 🙂

The person who comes up with the best solution will win … (you guessed it) an iPad*! That’s the only idea for a gift that brands seem to have these days. So that was my parking nag for today. Now, Bob Dylan has something to sing for you. Enjoy and have a lovely day! 🙂

And to think… that our Minister of Public Works Ghazi Aridi answered ‘Right’ to the above! *Facepalm* If I were in charge I’d sentence him to a couple of hours of ‘Torture by traffic‘. Because of his decision, it took me 90 minutes to cross a road that would otherwise take 15 minutes. For more info check out Blog Baladi‘s comment on this.

But anyway, here’s a sweeter tone on the ears. Enjoy and have a beautiful day! 🙂

Peace of land

The war we're covering today, my friends, is not of a political nature.

It's a far more serious & danger...

dangerous war

Someone eating lands

No more trees

No more mountains

2010: buildings, 2120: Water innondation

What we know about the suspects...

They eat trees, they are loaded, they have no construction background whatsoever

How they operate: LOOK!! A piece of land!

Résidence Le Pine

Résidence Le Pine, in reality

In summary, it would be GREAT if the municipalities could set a quota (and enforce it) for building construction in residential areas according to market needs and nature preservation!

If you’re around Beirut today at 6:30PM, I’ll be signing my book and participating to a debate in a pub in Gemmayze ‘Cheers & Wind‘. The debate is about: The Impact of Online Social Networking on the Lebanese Society’ followed by a Spanish light dinner for the hungry ones…

Today’s song is called Rhayader, it’s from Camel’s best masterpiece album that I LOVE: The Snow Goose. I love the flute in it, and I recommend you all to get the album 😀
