I will be participating to a round table discussion around the theme of blog-turned-books at the 16e Salon du Livre Francophone in Beirut, BIEL, Agora, on Sunday, November 1st at 4:00 PM. There will also be Nathalie Bontems & David Hury from Chroniques Beyrouthines, Tania Hadjithomas Méhanna for publishing the blog ‘carnets de l’hirondelle’, Samer Karam from Blogging Beirut, & Ghassan Salameh from Kibot. The moderators of the discussion are Nada Akl & Elodie Morel.
Click here for the Facebook event. See you there 😉
P.S. The discussion will be in French, if you want to bring your translators 🙂
This small drawing is to express my gratitude to all of you who made Ceramic Lounge’s book signing such a beautiful event. I was very happy to be around lovely people like you, and you made the evening a special one.
Now let me share with you my surprise of the month. After Pecha Kucha presentation last wednesday, I saw Ayman taking photos with his mobile phone. I asked if he could send them, and he clearly avoided giving me a clear answer. I thought alright, I hope my sister will have taken some pics at least to remember the event. This wednesday, I saw him filming again at Ceramic Lounge. This time I thought I will not ask him for the photos 😛 And then yesterday, I see this post on his blog containing an INTEGRAL VIDEO OF PECHA KUCHA PRESENTATION, and a VIDEO OF BOOK SIGNING AT CERAMIC LOUNGE!
Ayman, I am SO glad that you documented those events with videos! Even an integral of the PK presentation!! This is really priceless. Thank you so much 🙂
And this week’s fanart was sent to me by the lovely Mireille (@migheille) author of the blog LifeGeeked.com. Thank you so much Mireille for this beautiful ASCII art! Click on the image to view it in large size.

Here is Mireille’s message along with the art: “ASCII FAN ART !!!!! 😛 well ok… it is bit nerdy ! i admit ! but hope it still counts as fan art ! I can do something in colors , and another image if u want”
Thank you SO much Mireille! It totally counts as fanart.. never crossed my mind to do those illustrations in ASCII! Brilliant & creative 🙂
It all started on Twitter when @ghassanb decided to try to draw the main character of this blog. @Beirutspring suggested to take this idea further, by sharing different personal interpretations of the character. @Hatemdex also sent his hand drawn sketch. Thank you guys for sending me my very first fanart! 🙂 What do you guys think?

If you’d like to try your take on this, feel free to send it to me (my email is in the “About me” page of the blog), and I’ll add a fanart post every once in a while… Until then, have a great day!
Hate ‘group’ photos! There’s no such thing as a ‘group’ photo because whenever you’re shown a photo with other people, you will judge it according to how YOU look in it. And Facebook doesn’t help in all this.
Anyway enough nagging, I’m really truly sorry my darlings for not posting as regularly as I used to, I have too much work 🙁 Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go practice how to mess up my Pecha Kucha presentation tomorrow (OH MY GOD IT’S TOMORROW!). Click here for more info: http://pecha-kucha.org/cities/beirut/6. See you guys there 😉
